Conhecer o Americano is an intermediary providing shopping service for easier products purchase and delivery from U.S. online stores. In our website, you can find our best offers of what could be bought and delivered from U.S. online stores to you. 

Conhecer o Americano is not the manufacturer, direct seller or distributor of any items shown on conheceroamericano.pt website or bought using Order Anything service.

Conhecer o Americano is not responsible for the quality of products, defects, other flaws or traits that products possess, and is not providing any warranty or is accepting returns directly. Conhecer o americano operates as an intermediary allowing consumers to make online purchases from the U.S. online stores. All complaints should be filled directly to the original seller. All product purchases, returns, exchanges, warranty terms and conditions, item price adjustments or discount changes depend on the U.S. seller's, from which the products were purchased, internal rules and policies. Conhecer o Americano does not influence or have control over the internal rules and policies of any U.S. seller, however, to an extent, can provide information regarding the stores services or products. To receive accurate information regarding the U.S. sellers policies or product information, we recommend to contact the original seller directly.

Conhecer o Americano provides a mediator service and is only responsible for damages done to an item during shipping and delivery.

Placing an order

An account sign up is not necessary in order to use Conhecer o Americano services. Signing up to the Conhecer o Americano account will, however, help to review order history.

Due to the US online store's available item inventory changes, some items in some cases might not be available to order. In such cases, the client will be contacted and offered alternative products or full refund option. 

The final cart price can be seen after selecting the preferred delivery option for your order.

Pricing

The price shown in conheceroamericano.pt website (or provided as a quote in case of Order Anything service) is final with all taxes included, therefore, no additional taxes will need to be covered.

Price includes item's purchase price, shipping from US store to US warehouse, air delivery from US warehouse to Portugal, cost of Customs clearance, duties or excise, Conhecer o Americano commission fee, VAT. 

Main components of final price: 

  • Items purchase price (w/o Sales tax) in US online store
  • 13% Conhecer o Americano commission fee
  • 14 USD / kg shipping to Portugal
  • 2% Customs clearance
  • Duty taxes/excise (vary depending on a product)
  • 23% VAT

Payment

Payments can be made via Visa, MasterCard credit or debit card and Apple Pay.

 Refunds are issued within 1-3 business days from the day a refund is registered. Depending on the primary selected payment method, payment transfers usually take another 1-10 businesses days to reach a bank account.

Shipping

After placing an order, items are usually delivered to our U.S. warehouse within 3-7 business days. Depending on the delivery terms provided by the seller, the delivery term could take more time in some cases. Received items are then packed and prepared to be shipped to Europe. Orders shipped from our U.S. warehouse usually arrive in 7-10 business days by air shipments from the day they were sent from our warehouse. Please note: the Customs Department has a right to withhold packages for additional verification of their contents, therefore, the provided time frame is preliminary and in rare cases can be prolonged.

All packages are shipped by private courier companies and are delivered to your provided address or pickup point. Shipping and delivery methods can be selected at order checkout. 

Shipping terms from US to Europe can be prolonged due to external factors and processes, which are not directly influenced by Conhecer o Americano.

Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

If your package was damaged/lost, you must contact Conhecer o Americano Customer Support team. 

Cancellation and Return

Orders can be cancelled until purchased products are still in US warehouse and not packed for shipping. Please note: a fixed 2% fee from cancelled order amount will be charged as a payment processing fee for an order. Additional fees could be applied if the store/seller applies order return fees for the purchased products. An order cancellation fee will not be applied if the ordered products are cancelled by the US online store.

Orders that have been packed for shipping or shipped cannot be cancelled.

Products can be returned back to the US online store only if the product return terms are still valid and the store agrees to accept return. For more information, please contact us via ola@conheceroamericano.pt. Please note: if the seller agrees to issue a refund, it will be maximum for product value in US online store. Other fees (shipping, delivery, import, etc.) are non-refundable.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging.

In some cases customs officers withhold packages for additional verification. We cannot influence this process in any way. Order cancellation or partial refund is not possible in such cases.

Certain types of items cannot be returned. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.

Forbidden Items

In case you'll contact us for Order Anything service, please be aware, that some items are forbidden to be imported to European Union. List below. 

  • Firearms, guns & accessories, including: replicas, compound bows, and crossbows
  • Thermal imaging, Infrared or other night vision devices
  • Rifle scopes, laser pointing & aiming devices for firearms, ammunition
  • Defense articles controlled under the US Munitions List as defined under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations
  • Explosives, fireworks, gun powder, flares or matches
  • Gasoline, diesel or other fuel
  • Prescription medications
  • Prohormones, Human Growth Hormones, stem cell treatments, steroids or synthetic versions
  • Perishable products of any kind
  • Food products of any kind
  • Collectible coins
  • Alcohol or tobacco products
  • Poisonous substances
  • Toxic substances, including inhalation hazards
  • Infectious substances
  • Explosives, fireworks, gun powder, flares or matches
  • Pesticides, herbicides, fungicides
  • Radioactive elements or products
  • Oxidizing agents
  • Fire extinguishers
  • BB/pellet/airsoft/paintball guns, parts and projectiles
  • Damaged batteries
  • Any dual-use or commercial article controlled under the Commerce Control List (CCL) as defined under the Export Administration Regulations, where the control status requires a Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) approved export license
  • Contraband or illegal substances
  • Gambling devices & accessories
  • Live or dead animals or insects
  • Agricultural products, including certain seeds, live or dead plants, unfinished or untreated wood & soil
  • Items containing animal products controlled under the Endangered Species Act, Marine Mammal Protection Act, or requiring a permit under CITES
  • Any unidentifiable material, substance or chemical
  • Product subscriptions
  • Flammable items
